The beginnings of ASHA Watch can be traced back to 2009 when concerns about the direction the American Speech-Language Hearing Association was heading in were repeatedly met with dismissive, condescending, self-rationalizing, and disingenuous responses by ASHA. As we did more research into ASHA, our concerns grew. Those concerns led to a website in early 2010 and then grew into a loosely-knit group of slp activists working to protect our profession from the greed, corruption, ambition, and out-of-the-mainstream views of ASHA.
ASHA Watch exists to make ASHA accountable and transparent to its members - something The ASHA Leader refuses to do.
We publish the information that ASHA doesn't want you to see or know about.
Please note that while the main blogger of this page is retired (hence there are far fewer updates), we are still interested in any new information about ASHA you might have that can be backed up with documentation. If the information and documentation warrants publishing, we will update this blog.
